東京大学とソフトバンクのBeyond AI連携事業の一環として、ソフトバンク(株)（およびトレジャーデータ(株)・ヤフー(株)等のグループ会社）を受入先企業とする東京大学グローバル・インターンシップ・プログラム（UGIP）【Real Data Analysis Competition】を開催いたします。

東京大学グローバル・インターンシップ・プログラム（UGIP）は、東京大学の学生を対象としたインターンシップ・プログラムです。世界で活躍できるグローバル人材の育成のため、ビジネスの最前線を体感できる受入先企業にインターンシップ生を受け入れ、東京大学のグローバル化に貢献することを狙いとして実施しています。

The University of Tokyo and Softbank will hold the Global Internship Program (UGIP) ”Real Data Analysis Competition” with Softbank Corporation (and its group companies such as Treasure Data Corporation and Yahoo Japan Corporation) as part of the Beyond AI joint project.

The University of Tokyo Global Internship Program (UGIP) is an internship program for students of the University of Tokyo that allows them to experience the front line of business in order to develop global human resources who can play an active role in the world. The program aims to contribute to the globalization of the University of Tokyo by accepting internship students at host companies.

2021年4月7日（水）に東京ビッグサイトで開催されたAI・人工知能EXPOセミナーにて、萩谷機構長とソフトバンク株式会社松田慎一テクノロジーユニット技術戦略統括 AI戦略室長が「よりよい未来社会の実現に貢献する『Beyond AI 研究推進機構』の活動とは」をテーマに講演しました。当機構が誕生した背景および本学とソフトバンクの連携事業の趣旨説明、中長期研究とハイサイクル研究の２つの研究領域と主に中長期研究の研究者の紹介を行いました。最後に両者で本機構の今後の可能性について、事業化及び人材育成を中心にディスカッション形式でお話されました。

At the 5th AI EXPO Tokyo [Spring] held at Tokyo Big Sight on April 7th, 2021, Director Hagiya and Mr. Shinichi Matsuda, Senior Director, AI Strategy Office Technology Unit, SoftBank Corp., gave a lecture on the theme of “Activities of the Institute for AI and Beyond to contribute to realization of a better society”.
He explained the background of the establishment of the Institute and the purpose of the collaboration between the University of Tokyo and SoftBank. Then, he introduced the two research areas: The Basic Research (Mid- and Long-term Research) and the Applied Research (High-cycle Research), as well as the researchers mainly of the Basic Research area. At the end of the session, both parties discussed the future possibilities of the institute, focusing on business development and human resource development.
