2023年10月10日、Beyond AI研究推進機構主催のポスター発表会を、武田ホール・ホワイエにて開催しました。
当日は基礎・応用の各研究グループ、アラムナイ、CIP、ソフトバンクから75点のポスター発表が行われ、学内及びソフトバンクから116人の参加者による活発な研究交流が行われました。
2023年10月10日 (火)、Beyond AI 研究推進機構によるポスター発表会を武田ホール・ホワイエ（本郷キャンパス 浅野地区）にて開催いたします。本学の学生、教職員であれば、会場にてポスター発表をご覧いただけますので、ご案内申し上げます。
当ポスター発表会は、基礎・応用研究の各グループ、アラムナイをはじめ、CIP（技術研究組合）・ソフトバンク関係等の研究者が、ポスターによる研究発表を行うと共に、Beyond AIコミュニティ、及び学内の学生・教職員らと交流することで、研究の更なる発展と新しい展開を期待するものです。

The Poster Presentations by the Institute for AI and Beyond will be held on Tuesday October 10th at Takeda Hall/Foyer on Asano Section. Students, faculty, and staff members of the University of Tokyo are welcome to attend the event.
In this poster presentation, researchers from each Basic and Applied research groups, and Alumni committee of the Institute for AI and Beyond, Collaborative Innovation Partnership (CIP) and SoftBank, present their research by poster and interact with the Beyond AI community and students, faculty and staff members of the University of Tokyo. The goal is to further develop research and promote new collaborations.

The Institute for AI and Beyond was established in 2019 as a center of excellence where the world's best talent and knowledge gather, aiming to promote the Beyond AI Joint Project (※) created by the University of Tokyo and SoftBank.
The institute, now in its third year, continues to promote “Basic Research (Mid- and Long-term Research)” that aims to create new academic fields by integrating fundamental technology research of AI and other academic fields, and “Applied Research (High-cycle Research)” that aims to utilize AI for various social and industrial issues.
In the AY2022 Research Results Presentation, 11 leaders of research projects in the “Basic Research (Medium- and Long-term Research)” will disseminate their research results to date, as well as new academic outlooks resulting from the integration of AI and various research fields to the society at large.
※The Beyond AI Joint Project aims to develop an ecosystem for social implementation and business deployment of research outcomes.

Beyond AI 研究推進機構サイエンスカフェは、基礎研究（中長期研究）の研究リーダーとモデレーターとの対談の形式により、一般の方の質問に答えながら、研究内容の社会発信を試みます。研究リーダーのそれぞれの研究が、AIを通して、どのように進展してゆくのか、また、その進展の向こう側で、その研究の成果が社会とどのような関わりを持つかなどについて毎回テーマを設定して、発信してまいります。
第6回 Beyond AI 研究推進機構サイエンスカフェは、研究プロジェクト「脳科学とAIの融合」において、人工組織を用いた脳機能解明に関する研究を進める池内与志穂准教授（東京大学 生産技術研究所）をお迎えしました。「脳は作れるのでしょうか」をテーマに一池内先生がAI研究やその応用・未来を語っています。

「体の外でヒトの脳に似た神経回路を作って、機能させることが目標です。培養した細胞が本来持っている神経回路を作る能力を発揮させて脳のような組織ができたら、機能を持つようになるのでしょうか」
In the 6th Institute for AI and Beyond Science Café, we were glad to welcome Associate Professor Yoshiho IKEUCHI of the Institute of Industrial Science of the University of Tokyo, a leading researcher conducting research on understanding human brain through constructing organoid circuit tissues in the research project "Integrating Brain Science and AI".
In the video, Dr. Ikeuchi talked with a moderator about AI research, its applications, and its future in a format that answers questions solicited from the public.

Starting the 2022 academic year, the event format has shifted from a real-time online distribution format to a distribution of video recordings. Accordingly, the name has been changed from "Public Seminar" to "Institute for AI and Beyond Science Café (abbreviated name: Beyond AI Science Café)".
2019年にソフトバンクとの連携のもとで設立された東京大学 Beyond AI 研究推進機構では、AIの基盤技術研究のみならず、その他の学術領域との融合によって新たな学術分野の創出を目指す「基礎研究（中長期研究）」と、さまざまな社会課題・産業課題へのAIの活用を目的とする「応用研究（ハイサイクル研究）」の二つのステージで研究を推進しています。研究成果発表会では、「基礎研究（中長期研究）」の研究プロジェクトの11人のリーダーにより、研究成果を広く社会に向けて発信するとともに、今後のさらなる研究の推進に向けて意見交換を行います。
