第4回 Beyond AI 研究推進機構 国際シンポジウムを、2024年3月1日（金）14時～18時（日本時間）に、東京大学 情報学環 福武ホール（本郷キャンパス）にて開催いたします。
今回のシンポジウムのテーマは、「Beyond AI のためのデバイスとハードウェア技術」です。当日は、藤井 輝夫 東京大学総長、宮川 潤一 ソフトバンク株式会社 代表取締役 社長執行役員兼 CEOの開会挨拶の後、海外からの演者を含む英語による基調講演および、国内の研究者、企業経営者と政府関係者によるパネルディスカッション（日本語）を行います。

■ 概要：
本国際シンポジウムでは、日本のAI研究拠点の１つとして活動する東京大学Beyond AI 研究推進機構での研究状況を国内外に紹介すると共に、AI研究に関連した様々な課題について議論することを目的としている。第4回となる今回は、「Beyond AI のためのデバイスとハードウェア技術」をテーマとして、AI技術の進展に伴い将来必要とされる半導体技術、対応すべき課題等についてハードウェアの視点から議論する。特に消費電力の拡大への対応方策など、社会全体に大きな影響を与えることが予想される諸課題について各分野の専門家を交えて討論する場を提供する。

The 4th International Symposium of the Institute for AI and Beyond, the University of Tokyo will be held on (14:00-18:00 (JST), Friday, 1 March 2024)
The theme of the 4th symposium is
"Devices and Hardware Technologies for AI and Beyond"
After opening remarks by Professor Teruo Fujii (President, The University of Tokyo) and Mr. Junichi Miyakawa (President & CEO, SoftBank Corp.), keynote speeches in English given by speakers including researcher from overseas, as well as a panel discussion in Japanese are scheduled to be held. In the panel discussion, researchers, corporate executive and government official in Japan will be invited as guest speakers to discuss on the theme.

■ Overview
This international symposium will introduce the research status of the Institute for AI and Beyond at the University of Tokyo, one of Japan's AI research centers, to the world. In addition, the symposium aims to discuss various issues related to AI research. In the fourth symposium, under the theme of "Devices and Hardware Technologies for AI and Beyond," we will discuss semiconducting technologies that will be required as well as anticipated issues on hardware for present AI and beyond. In particular, the symposium will provide an opportunity to discuss issues that are expected to significantly impact society as a whole, such as measures to deal with increasing power consumption, with experts from various fields.
■ Registration: The symposium is open to public, but registration in advance is required for both on-site and online participation. Those who registered will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to attend the event.
